Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) touched down in Serbia for the first time yesterday (Sat., Aug. 1, 2026) to stage UFC Belgrade from inside Belgrade Arena in Belgrade, Serbia, which saw Uros Medic absolutely destroy Daniel Rodriguez in just 30 seconds (see it again here). In the co-main event, Navajo Stirling secured one of the biggest wins of his career after knocking out Jan Blachowicz, also in the first round (highlights).
Biggest Winner: Uros Medic
If there is one thing you can count on when watching an Uros Medic fight, it’s a first-round knockout. He delivered on that once again yesterday by blitzing Rodriguez from the jump, not giving him any room to breathe before ending his night in under a minute. Indeed, 12 of his 14 wins have come by way of knockout, so this is very much what he does. With his fourth straight first-round knockout win imside the Octagon in his back pocket — which secured him a nice $100,000 bonus check — he can expect to crash the Top 10 because he is very much a threat to anyone at 170 pounds.
Runner Up: Navajo Stirling
When opportunity knocks you have to answer, and Stirling did just that after he agreed to step in on short notice to replace Bogdan Guskov against Blachowicz. Stirling took full advantage by shocking the former Light Heavyweight champion with a first-round knockout performance. He improves to 6-0 under the UFC banner with his last three wins coming by way of technical knockout (TKO). He will definitely crash the Top 10 following his latest win, and he could be on the fast track to potentially even get into the Top 5 since Blachowicz was ranked No. 4 coming into the fight. The young contender has proven he has the chops to hang with the big boys, so it will be interesting to see how UFC matchmakers proceed with his next fight.
Biggest Loser: Jan Blachowicz
The last time Blachowicz had his hand raised in victory was back in May 2022, though that was due to the fact that Aleksandar Rakic suffered a brutal knee injury during their 205-pound showdown. The Polish bruiser’s cold streak continued yesterday after he was iced by Stirling in record fashion, putting him at 0-3-2 in his last five fights. It’s a drastic downfall for the former Light Heavyweight champion of the world, who looked a step slower against the younger fighter in Stirling. It’s something we see in the fight game, a once dominant heavy-hitter being reduced to a shell of his former self after every outing. There is no telling where Blachowicz goes from here, but he needs to find a way back to the win column or face getting let go by the promotion.
