Uros Medic needed just 30 seconds to deliver a performance of a lifetime earlier today (Sat., Aug. 1, 2026) at UFC Belgrade LIVE on Paramount+ from inside Belgrade Arena in Belgrade, Serbia, as “The Doctor” easily put out welterweight veteran Daniel Rodriguez with a vicious knockout sequence.
Medic was a heavy favorite to take care of business on home soil and most believed he would. The streaking welterweight has won his last three trips to the cage all by way of knockout and “D-Rod” was returning from a year off and a lengthy stay in Mexican jail. Rodriguez is always capable of pulling off an upset, but Medic has been downright unstoppable of late.
Despite a few early leg kicks from Rodriguez the UFC veteran had little to no time to operate. That’s because Medic landed a perfectly-timed left hand that badly hurt Rodriguez and sent him to the ground. Medic followed up with hard punches before the referee rushed in to save “D-Rod.” It all lasted just 30 seconds as the Serbian crowd went absolutely bonkers.
