A Silver Alert was activated Saturday on behalf of an 85-year-old man last seen in South Los Angeles.
Clarence Gilbert was last seen about 12:30 a.m. in the area of West 74th and Main streets, according to the California Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Gilbert, who was believed to be on foot, was described as a 5-foot, 9-inch tall Black man weighing 195 pounds with black hair and black eyes. He was last seen wearing a plaid button-up shirt, blue jeans and black boots.
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts was urged to call 911.
The CHP activates a Silver Alert when an elderly or developmentally or cognitively impair person goes missing and is determined to be at-risk to help them be recovered more quickly.
