CELTIC will learn their Champions League play-off opponents when the draw – scheduled to get underway at 11am – is made in Nyon, Switzerland today.
The Hoops step onto the two-legged tightrope as they attempt to negotiate a path to the £40million league phase of Europe’s elite competition.
No-one of a Celtic persuasion will need reminding of last season’s disastrous failure against the Kazakhstan minnows of Kairat Almaty as the team toppled out on penalty-kicks in the shoot-out following two drab goalless draws.
The Parkhead club dropped into the Europa League as a consequence of failure.
The Hoops will be one of the seeded teams with the play-off ties scheduled for August 18/19 and 25/26.
Their opponents will come from:
Viking Stavanger;
LASK Linz;
NK Celje or Ararat-Armenia;
Kairat Almaty or Levski Sofia;
Aarhus or Sabah.
The draw will be shown live on UEFA’s official website and will also be broadcast on TNT Sports 1 and HBO Max in the UK.
