JAY, N.Y. (WCAX) – New York State Police are investigating the death of a woman found at a residence on Carey Road Sunday morning, according to a state police press release.
Troopers responded to the home around 10:00 a.m. after receiving a report of a deceased female. Upon arrival, troopers located a woman deceased inside the residence.
Officials say a preliminary investigation determined the victim had non-self-inflicted injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. Investigators are executing multiple search warrants and processing the scene, according to the release.
State Police are asking residents and businesses in the surrounding area to review security camera footage for any suspicious activity between approximately 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, and 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 2.
