Emmerdale spoilers follow from Monday’s episode (3 August), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet.
In tonight’s Emmerdale, Joe is questioned by the police about Billy’s attack, with Caleb having revealed his deadly motive.
Meanwhile, Nicola questions her and Jimmy’s future, and Kyle makes a big decision – before the Dingles get some more sad news.

1. Joe is questioned

Following his arrest, Joe wakes up in a police cell and is taken to the interview room for formal questioning about Billy’s attack. He is surprised to be asked about the threat he made against Billy.
Meanwhile, Kim finds out about Dawn and Billy’s kiss and that Caleb divulged this bombshell to Joe. Dawn wants answers so she confronts Caleb, who admits that Joe could have been angry enough to attack Billy.
2. Caleb’s scheme is exposed

With no evidence against him, Joe is released and he returns home. He tells Kim and Dawn about Caleb and Billy selling counterfeit goods, though he keeps this information from the police.
Dawn takes Joe’s side and believes that he didn’t attack Billy. But as Caleb comes clean to Ruby about his dodgy scheme, he remarks that Joe will soon get what’s coming to him. Is Caleb planning revenge?

3. Nicola is disappointed

Feeling neglected by Jimmy, Nicola is excited about a proper date with her husband. However, she isn’t impressed when he just takes her to the pub, with only Bob going to the effort of setting a table for the couple.
Jimmy desperately tries to salvage his latest romantic mistake. But does Nicola believe their marriage is over?
4. Kyle is stunned

Moira exits the village for a few days to look after injured Nana Barton, leaving Cain to talk to Kyle about the adoption plans alone.
Cain eventually plucks up the courage to tell Kyle that Moira would like to officially adopt him. However, Kyle worries about what his late mum Amy would think and heads to ask Kerry’s advice.
5. Cain gets bad news

Kyle returns and has an honest chat with his dad about the future, before confirming that he would love Moira to adopt him and to become a Dingle in name.
But things soon go wrong when Monty takes a turn for the worse, and Rhona tells Cain and Sam that with the tumour spreading, they should start thinking about saying goodbye to their beloved dog.
