The team had dropped two points in their Premiership opener against Dundee United on Friday night, with a second-half strike from Thelo Aasgaard only securing a draw after Lachlan Rose’s goal for United.
Ryan Naderi, who was substituted at half-time at Tannadice, made a strong comeback by scoring a hat-trick against the Jags.
Bojan Miovski also found the net, giving Rangers a 4-1 lead at half-time.
Academy players Luca Rankin and Lyle Wark scored in the second half, with goalkeeper Rydnn McGuire starting the game.
Rangers comfortably won against Mark Wilson’s side, who began their Championship title bid with a win over Morton at the weekend.
Naderi was replaced at the interval after his three goals, while summer recruit Vanja Dragojevic played for 45 minutes, having not been used against United.
Olwethu Makhanya made his first appearance following his move from Philadelphia Union.
Players such as Clinton Nsiala, Connor Barron, and Lyall Cameron were given the opportunity to impress amid uncertainty over their future at Ibrox.
Rangers are set to train in Glasgow on Tuesday before travelling to Poland on Wednesday for the first leg of their Europa League qualifier.
They will face Jagiellonia Białystok, who sit second in their domestic league, on Thursday evening.
Reflecting on their recent outing with United, Derek McInnes said: “I think it will,” when asked if the outing with United will stand his side in good stead for their first qualifier of the season.
“You get that strength through your legs.
“I thought they were fit enough tonight, we just didn’t look sharp enough to get those and play with real fluency and rhythm at times.
“I thought there were wee moments.
“I thought we played for 15–20 minutes tonight, but you can’t expect to come away from home and win a game if you’re only playing for that length of time.
“So the intention and the hope would be that we start to get more of what we saw for longer in games and that therefore we get that type of performance more into a winning performance rather than what we had tonight.”
If Rangers lose to Jagiellonia, they will drop into the Conference League and face Jablonec or RFS for a place in that competition.
