Amtrak’s Cascade train service between Seattle and Portland is temporarily suspended Monday morning due to the Centennial Mills warehouse fire.
Bus transportation will be provided between Seattle and Portland instead, Amtrak said Monday.
Amtrak has not said how long services will be suspended.
The fire at the Centennial Mills warehouse broke out Sunday afternoon. The abandoned building is located at 1362 N.W. Naito Parkway, approximately half a mile from the Portland Amtrak station.
The blaze has done enough damage that the 116-year-old building is at risk of total collapse, a Portland Fire & Rescue spokesman said.
Portland fire also stated Sunday that there was no evidence that anyone was inside the building at the time of the fire, but said they haven’t been able to rule it out.
