If there’s something you can’t quite put a finger on, then maybe you can ask former Carolina Panthers defender Gerald McCoy for a little help.
McCoy made his debut on ESPN’s Get Up this morning. When discussing the Baltimore Ravens, the six-time Pro Bowl lineman gave props to four-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Trey Hendrickson . . . for opting to play without gloves.
But as McCoy goes on to explain, that choice could come with some bone-chilling consequences . . .
McCoy, the third overall pick of the 2010 NFL Draft, played the first nine seasons of his pro career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Along with those six all-star nods, he also earned a first-team All-Pro selection and two second-team All-Pro selections over that time.
Following his release from Tampa Bay in the spring of 2019, McCoy rerouted within the NFC South and joined the Panthers. That season saw McCoy, who started in all 16 games for Carolina, record 37 combined tackles and 5.0 sacks.
Luckily for McCoy, he won’t have to worry about protecting those fingers in his new gig.
