Talks of a move for Lucas Bergvall have cooled in recent weeks, with Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi seemingly wanting to keep the Sweden star.

Now, another Premier League midfielder is on the shortlist and it could prove a very popular signing in the eyes of the fan base.

Nottingham Forest want to sign Man City midfielder Tijjani Reijnders 😮

Thoughts Forest fans?

Nottingham Forest want Tijjani Reijnders

According to Simon Jones and Fabrizio Romano, Forest are showing an interest in the City star as his place in next season’s team looks in doubt with Anderson checking in.

Reijnders made 28 appearances in the Premier League last season, with 19 of those coming in the starting eleven for the team who finished second.

The midfielder made 47 appearances in total for the Citizens, scoring seven goals and claiming eight assists, with Pep Guardiola calling Reijnders a ‘special’ player.

City parted with £55 million to sign the player from AC Milan last summer and it will definitely be interesting to see what sum of money they will want to recoup for his services.

Reijnders outperformed Anderson in some areas last season

It’s hard to give Anderson any criticism for what he achieved at Forest but signing Reijnders would be an astonishing replacement.

Across games for club and country during the 2025/26 campaign, Reijnders actually had a pass success ratio better than Anderson’s, according to WhoScored.

Reijnders’ success rate came in at 89.5%, with Anderson’s 86.9% paling in comparison to the player now linked with a move to the City Ground.

This would be a stunning signing for Forest as a replacement for City, and hopefully, the club can agree some sort of deal with the former Premier League champions for him to make the switch.
