The man charged in the kidnapping and car-trunk execution of beloved Chino Hills father Shukur Aikebaer hung his head in shame at his fourt court appearance Tuesday.
Jianquan Bo appeared with an attorney and used an interpreter device as he pleaded not guilty to murder and kidnapping charges.

Prosecutors allege Jianquan helped orchestrate Aikebaer’s kidnapping, while his brother, Zhengfeng Bo, 67, fired the fatal shots before deputies killed him in an officer-involved shooting.

The violence unfolded around 10:14 p.m. on July 29, when investigators say Zhengfeng and Jianquan drove to the Chino Hills home of Aikebaer, a father of three. Detectives believe the pair first cut electricity to the residence in an apparent attempt to draw Aikebaer outside.
When he stepped out to investigate, authorities allege Zhengfeng Bo shot him once in the torso before the suspects forced the wounded man into the trunk of their Nissan Altima and drove away.

A neighbor’s 911 call reporting gunfire and providing a description of the vehicle helped deputies quickly locate the car. Deputies attempted a traffic stop, but the driver led them on a brief pursuit of about two miles before stopping in Chino Hills.
Sheriff Shannon Dicus said deputies were unaware anyone was inside the trunk. Investigators allege Zhengfeng then exited the vehicle, opened the trunk and fatally shot Aikebaer in the head.
Deputies immediately returned fire, killing Zhengfeng at the scene. Jianquan was taken into custody, and Aikebaer was pronounced dead.

Zhengfeng was CEO of Panshi Inc., a commercial real estate firm, while Aikebaer served as the company’s chief financial officer and secretary. Panshi was also embroiled in a lawsuit with Panoptic Development over control of a $20 million, 75-unit Pasadena apartment complex.
Court records show Panshi, which owned a 70% stake in the property, voted in March to remove Panoptic as the building’s manager.
San Bernardino County District Attorney Jason Anderson said Aikebaer’s family has been left devastated by the events, during a news conference Monday.
