Rihanna’s incredible, sparkling Met Gala gown
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are one of the last to arrive on the Met Gala carpet, but their looks do not disappoint!
Rihanna is back home in Barbados to celebrate Carnival, and she did not hold back with her showstopping outfit to ring in the festivities.The “Umbrella” singer made her grand appearance at the annual Crop Over festival wearing a colorful traditional ensemble decked out in feathers and jewels, along with coordinating accessories and a dramatic feathered headpiece. She debuted the look during the Grand Kadooment Day Parade on Aug. 3, the final day of the event, which commenced on July 4.The monthlong festival is celebrated annually in Barbados to mark the end of the sugar cane harvest, a tradition that can be traced back to the 1780s.
Videos and photos circulating online show the Grammy winner dancing and walking alongside fellow attendees before boarding a float, where she continued the celebrations while engaging with fans. This isn’t the first time the singer has made an appearance at the festival while showing off one of her ornate outfits. Rihanna has frequently returned to Barbados for the parade, and her outfits never disappoint.
Rihanna has had quite a packed year already, from magazine covers with her newborn daughter, Rocki Irish, to getting back on stage during with Jay-Z’s in New York City. Rihanna made a surprise return to the stage for Jay-Z’s final anniversary show on July 12 at Yankee Stadium where she performed “Run This Town” and “B—- Better Have My Money.”
The fashion icon also returned to the Met Gala in May with A$AP Rocky, closing out the red carpet in a custom Maison Margiela look that quickly became one of the nights most talked-about ensemble.
Although the year has brought plenty of great moments for the singer, there have also been some rocky ones. In early March, the family home she shares with A$AP Rocky and their three children was shot at by a 35-year-old woman, Ivanna Lisette Ortiz. Although no injuries were reported, Ortiz was charged with attempted murder.
