CAPITAL REGION, NY (WRGB) — For parents and students, it’s almost that time of year again: Back-to-school season.
The cost of supplies and clothes and everything else can add up.
To help alleviate the financial pressure, local McDonald’s restaurants are hosting free backpack giveaway events this Wednesday, August 5.
Capital Region restaurants participating include:

- 10 Trieble Ave, Ballston Spa
- 1006 Central Ave, Albany
- 31 Holland Ave, Albany
- 1 Park Plaza, Mechanicville
- 7621 NY-32, Cairo
- 1224 State St, Schenectady
- 2939 US Hwy 9, Valatie
- 55 Maple Ave (Route 9W) Catskill
- 3632 Main St, Warrensburg
- 12187 State Route 9W, West Coxsackie
- 8644 State Hwy 22, Granville

Backpacks are available while supplies last- it’s one backpack per student and they must be present to receive the backpack.
