30-year-old man killed in SE Portland shooting identified

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – A man who died after a shooting in a southeast Portland parking lot last week has been identified by the Portland Police Bureau.
Police said 30-year-old Stephan O. Varlmov, of Portland, was shot in a parking lot in the 9200 block of Southeast Clinton Street just after 8 a.m. on Friday, July 31. He was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
During the investigation, officers identified the suspect as 45-year-old Jacob Ryan Clement and arrested him on Saturday, Aug. 1.
According to court documents, Clement claims he was shooting an airsoft gun to “deter homeless.” The victim had gunshot wounds to his chest and hip.
Clement was booked into the Multnomah County jail for second-degree murder.
