Role Model Surprises TODAY by Crashing Al Roker’s Weather Segment

Al Roker got a little help reporting the weather from a special guest this morning.

Role Model stopped by Studio 1A to lend a hand to the TODAY weatherman and give a look at the forecast across the country for Aug. 6.

To celebrate the release of the singer’s third album “Chuck Timely & The Hourglass,” which is out on Aug. 7, Al selected some special cities to highlight on the weather map.

In a play on the album title, the duo put a spotlight on the forecast in Charles City, Iowa. They also paid tribute to Role Model’s song “Joy” by highlighting the weather in Joy, Texas.

“Just like the song, it’s going to be very hot, very spicy (in Joy, Texas),” the singer said.

Moving through the map, Al and Role Model made a reference to the singer’s hit “Chasing Midnight” as they made their way to the forecast for Midnight, Mississippi.

The musician’s song “Love I You” inspired one other city on the map — Love, Arizona — as did the song “Honeydew,” which got some love with the addition of Honeydew, California on the map.

Last, but certainly not least, Al added Harmony, Maine to the map in a nod to Role Model’s song “Harmony” and his home state of Maine, which he called his “favorite area” of the map.

This isn’t the first time Al and Role Model have teamed up on air. In 2025, they collaborated for a showstopping moment during the singer’s Citi Concert Series performance.

Role Model, whose real name is Tucker Pillsbury, performed his hit “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out.”

During the song, which has become a staple at Role Model’s concerts, the singer typically invites a fan to dance with him on stage and calls them “Sally.”

Al was happy to volunteer for the assignment during the Citi Concert series and hit the stage wearing a cowboy hat and holding a wine glass. The duo left fans grinning as they sang and danced together.

Role Model has had a plethora of fans volunteer to be “Sally” during his concerts. But as he was sharing the Aug. 6 forecast with the singer, Al was curious to know if one of them stands out more than the others.

“You were my favorite,” Role Model said.
