LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has identified the second officer involved in a shooting that left another officer dead earlier this week.
Officer Enrique Molinet was identified on Thursday as the second officer involved in Tuesday’s shooting near Mountain Vista Street and the I-11. Officials identified Officer Austin Abdelnabi as the fallen officer in the shooting on Wednesday.
The department says Molinet is 29 years old and has been with the department since 2022. He was also assigned to the Southeast Area Command, which is part of the Community Safety Division.

Officer Molinet has been placed on routine paid administrative leave pending the outcome of a review of this incident.
As of Thursday, the suspect in the shooting had yet to be identified.
Police are expected to give another update on the investigation on Friday.
