Nottingham Forest have seen one of their transfer priorities go up in smoke at the final hurdle.
The Reds are trying desperately to sign new players for Oliver Glasner, with George Syrianos leading things and Evangelos Marinakis also involved to a lesser extent.

It’s the Forest owner who is in the spotlight on Thursday afternoon, though, with some frustrating news emerging from Portugal regarding the deal for Ousmane Diomande.
Nottingham Forest deal for Ousmane Diomande falls through
According to reports in Portugal, the deal for Diomande is now up in the air, with Sporting uncomfortable with Marinakis being part of the negotiations.

It’s believed that a disagreement has taken place between Sporting and Marinakis, with the deal now off the table for the Ivory Coast central defender.
It’s been suggested that the clubs couldn’t agree on the price of Diomande, and at this stage it will take a major turnaround to get things back on track.
Forest are in need of another central defender, with Glasner keen to play three central defenders as a Plan A going forward.
Nikola Milenkovic and Murillo will be nailed-on starters for the Reds, and Morato, Jair Cunha and young defender Zach Abbott are the other contenders for a place in the team.

This news regarding Diomande is largely frustrating on the basis that it looked like a tap-in for Forest to complete in the transfer market.
Now, Glasner is left frustrated for a second time over Diomande, and Marinakis will have to deal with a pretty annoyed head coach if this deal doesn’t get back on track any time soon.
