Brittany Boltinhouse Family Statement on Her Being Dethroned as Miss North Carolina USA

Miss North Carolina USA Brittany Boltinhouse was just dethroned due to “conduct over an extended period of time,” and her family is speaking out.

While Brittany herself hasn’t made a statement, one of her family members (who remained anonymous) told the Daily Mail that “I think it’s important to put her truth out and have the proper narrative out versus a narrative that is saving the face [of] an organization. As you can imagine, there’s a lot we would like to say but we are taking the time to be in prayer and unity and [will] respond in a manner [that] God calls us to.”

Miss USA chairman and CEO Thom Brodeur previously said that Brittany would be releasing a statement of her own, explaining, “I have seen Brittany’s statement. There is ownership, accountability, and apology. I respect that. While it does not undo the harm, and it does not change the outcome, it is the beginning of the only thing that ever repairs harm, which is change.”

He added, “I believe people can change. I’m also quite aware that change is not a statement. It is a record. It is built over time, in the open, through conduct rather than apology alone.”

Miss Charlotte, Myla Hadley, has assumed the title of Miss North Carolina USA, and said in part, “While this may seem like a two-week turnaround given the circumstances, I’ve been preparing to represent at Miss USA since I first competed with this organization. I am ready to represent North Carolina. Thank you all again for your motivation, support, and well wishes.”
