Minnie Driver just survived a car crash in France and posted a video on Instagram, detailing how “grateful” she feels to be alive. In the video, she’s lying down in bed with a neck brace on as she shares what happened. While driving with a friend, another car T-boned their car and fled the scene. “We somehow walked out … Well we didn’t walk out of it, we crawled out of it, but we did get out of it alive,” she explained. “The reason why I’m not dead is the car that we were driving. I’ve never been in a crash before, but the 360-degree airbags are what saved our lives.” Driver’s now in London resting. She was in France filming Emily in Paris, and Deadline reports that her injury will not affect the filming schedule and that she can film her scenes once she recovers. “I’ve got a sprained neck, and I’m really in shock and sort of cry all the time but I’m going to heal,” she said. “I am so grateful to be alive.”
In the caption, she thanked the good and bad of humanity and she and her friend awaited help. “Shout-out to the van driver who stopped and helped us before the ambulances arrived. Special mention to the car who slowed down, took in the scene, and drove off without stopping,” Driver wrote in her caption. “I guess this is the Dao of the world, the light and the dark. My brain keeps replaying the crash which is very hard but seems to be a necessary part of processing. Weeping too, feels good and helpful. Thank you to my friends, my family, all the people at work and especially my friend Ben and his family. I love you.”
