Somerset drivers warned of multiple M5 motorway junction closures overnight

The northbound carriageway between junctions 24 and 23 will be shut from 10pm to 6am on August 6-7, 2026, for resurfacing, with traffic diverted via the A38 and A39.

Similarly, the northbound stretch between junctions 16 and 14 will also be closed from 10pm to 6am on August 6-7, 2026, for road marking renewal.

Planned closures in the region tonight:

Traffic will be diverted via the A38, while M4 traffic is advised to exit at junction 16 and immediately rejoin the M5 northbound.

Junction 30’s northbound carriageway, between the exit and entry slip roads, will be closed from 9pm to 6am on August 6-7 for reconstruction work.

A diversion will be in place via the exit and entry slip roads.

Motorists are encouraged to plan their journeys ahead of time to avoid delays.
