The Detroit Lions held a scrimmage-like practice on Friday, their fourth straight day in pads.
One of the neat things about these scrimmages is that they’ll often have the first-team offense go against the second-team defense, giving some depth players an opportunity to go against starting-level talent. It’s a huge opportunity for some players further on the depth chart, and undrafted rookie linebacker Erick Hunter was one of a few on Friday who took full advantage.
I’ll break down each of the 12 drives from practice below, along with the key plays and notable performances along the way

Drive 7 — Second-team offense vs. second-team defense — Starting at opponent’s 25-yard line
Drive 8 — First-team offense vs. first-team defense — Starting on opponent’s 25-yard line
Drive 9 — Third-team offense vs. third-team defense — Starting on own 1-yard line
Drive 10 — First-team offense vs. first-team defense — Starting on own 1-yard line
Drive 11 — Second-team offense vs. first-team defense — Situational: Tied 24-24, 3:45 left, starting on opponents’ 44-yard line with three timeouts
Drive 12 — First-team offense vs. second-team defense — Situational: Down 3 points, 1:32 left, 3 timeouts, starting on own 31-yard line
