Lifelong Chiefs fans tie the knot at Arrowhead Stadium ahead of Texans matchup

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Before the Chiefs took on the Texans under the prime time lights at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday night, wedding bells rang out from the iconic drum deck.

That’s where Bailey and Joe Roberts, two lifelong Chiefs fans, tied the knot.

They were surrounded by their 27 closest friends and family, and their daughter, Scarlet.

“It’s just the best day. This is such a blessing. And they just continue to bless us over and over again,” Bailey told KCTV5 Sports. “It’s just truly Kansas City fashion.”

Helzberg and the Chiefs teamed up to give one lucky couple the Red Kingdom wedding of their dreams.

The prize package included a pregame VIP tailgate tent in the Ford Tailgate District, pregame field passes, lower-level tickets and Locker Room Club access for their guests. Helzberg also gave them their wedding bands.

Bailey and Joe didn’t plan on getting married until next year, but they knew this was too perfect to pass up.

“He had surgery, and I was just at home and literally filled out the Helzberg ad, and was just like this would be crazy,” Bailey said. “It’s full circle, literally just a perfect thing. It would be such a good thing to surprise you with.”

“She let me know by the way we might be getting married in four weeks,” Joe said with a laugh.

It’s full circle because the tailgate lots of Arrowhead Stadium is where their love story began three years ago.

“When I saw her, I parked immediately,” said Joe. “We talked the whole tailgate, and I tried to be strategic, I was gonna ask for her number as we went into the stadium. In case she said no, then it wouldn’t be that awkward. We ended up losing each other, and then ended up sitting in the same section.”

“I heard him yell Bailey I have to get your number before I never see you again! And then we literally have been inseparable ever since,” Bailey added.

So how perfect is it that they get to start their forever in the same place?

“I’ve been a die hard fan, my dad had season tickets, I had season tickets for about ten years,” Joe said about his Chiefs fandom.

“And then you meet here, how can you not be! It’s in our blood now,” added Bailey.

Bailey also made sure to include an even mix of Bridal white, and Chiefs red in her outfit for the day.

“Just had to keep it a little bit bridal but also Chiefs cause why not?!”
