Rajvir Jawanda: Punjabi Singer Dies After Tragic Accident

Indian Punjabi singer and actor Rajvir Jawanda has died 11 days after he was critically injured in a road accident, Indian media reported.

Jawanda, 35, crashed while riding a motorcycle through Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district on September 27 and has been in hospital in the town of Mohali ever since.
“Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda passed away at 10:55 a.m. on October 8, 2025, at Fortis Hospital, Mohali. He was admitted on September 27, 2025, in an extremely critical condition following a road accident that caused severe spinal injuries and brain damage,” Fortis Hospital said in a statement carried by the Hindustan Times.
“Despite extensive medical support and continuous monitoring by the Critical Care and Neurosurgery teams, he succumbed to multiple organ failure this morning,” it added.
The singer had suffered severe head and spinal injuries in the accident near Baddi town when his motorcycle crashed into stray cattle in the road.
According to doctors, Jawanda’s neurological condition remained critical, with minimal brain activity and no significant improvement despite intensive medical care. His condition was described as “extremely critical” soon after the accident and he had been on life support since admission.
Jawanda burst onto the music scene in 2014 with the single “Munda Like Me,” and he quickly rose to fame for his soulful voice and lyrics celebrating Punjabi pride and culture, the Hindustan Times reported. According to his official Apple Music biography, he had originally hoped to become a police officer, but chose instead to follow his true calling, music.
Jawanda also branched out into acting and appeared in Punjabi movies including Subedar Joginder Singh in 2018, Jind Jaan in 2019 and Mindo Taseeldarni in 2019.

Indian politician Amarinder Singh Raja Warring paid tribute to Jawanda in a post on X. “We all prayed for his speedy recovery, but sadly god had other plans,” the president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee said.
“My heart goes out to his family, friends and fans who are shattered with this tragic loss. May Waheguru [God] grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give strength to his loved ones to bear this tragic loss. RIP.”
Neeru Bajwa, a Canadian-Indian actor and director, said in a post on Instagram she was “heartbroken by the tragic loss of such a young and promising life.”
“Sending deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of @rajvirjawandaofficial. May you find strength and peace during this unimaginable time. Gone far too soon, but never forgotten,” Bajwa said.
Punjabi politician Partap Singh Bajwa wrote on X: “Heartbreaking to hear about the untimely passing of Rajvir Jawanda. After days of brave struggle, he left us too soon.”
