Loose Women stars open the show singing Simply The Best
Loose Women viewers pleaded “make it stop” as the latest programme launched with a musical number from the panel.
The October 9 edition of the ITV daytime show featured a special tribute to music and its impact on mental wellbeing, ahead of World Mental Health Day on October 10. The episode began with the show’s stars Coleen Nolan, Brenda Edwards, and Kelle Bryan performing the track Simply the Best.
Ex-Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse danced in front of them as they sang, whilst the show’s Myleene Klass provided musical accompaniment, reports Belfast Live.
Coleen explained to viewers: “World Mental Health Day tomorrow is all about coming together to talk more openly about life’s ups and downs, something we’ve always done here on Loose Women, and today for the first time we’re not only speaking from the heart, we’re singing from the heart too.”

Nevertheless, many fans were left unimpressed by the musical opener, taking to X (which was formerly Twitter) to express their dismay at the “cringe” factor as the trio performed.
“Music definitely won’t be boosting my mood over the next hour,” one viewer remarked.
Fans had mixed feelings about the singing
Another person begged: “Omg. Make it stop.”
“What is this??” questioned another bewildered fan.
“Ha ha ha haaa haaa haaaa haaaa,” mocked one user, whilst someone else declared: “Good grief.”
“Just come back into the room, but what is this?” one audience member asked on the social media platform, with another branding it a “cringefest”.
Coleen performed on the Loose Women stage
However, others took a different view, expressing their appreciation for the opening performance and subsequent musical segments throughout Thursday’s instalment of the daytime TV favourite.
“Music is essential medicine,” one fan commented on X, while another viewer expressed their delight at hearing former pop star Kelle perform on the Loose Women stage.
“Hey, Loose Women, that was incredible stuff,” chimed in another viewer who enjoyed the spectacle.
“Love @KlassMyleene talent, love musicians’ keyboards and drums,” they added.
