The barrel is being rolled out, and Waterloo Region is getting set to ramp up its Bavarian push, with KW Oktoberfest getting set for its 57th annual keg tapping event.
Carl Zehr Square is set to be packed across downtown Kitchener, with the keg tapping currently slated for Friday at noon, with the pre-show ceremony beginning at 11:30 a.m.
For this year’s festivity, KW Oktoberfest announced that Canadian artist and former frontman of the Barenaked Ladies, Steven Page, and KW Oktoberfest Board President, Chef D, will be the ones to officially ‘spank the spigot.’
It all comes as Carl Zehr Square will be transformed into the Wilkommen Platz Biergarten, hosting plenty of Oktoberfest events throughout the course of the weekend from Oct. 10 to 12.
