Janette Manrara issued demand by Strictly star after ‘not the same’ message with Aljaz Skorjanec

The presenter and dancer got some time with her husband in between their busy schedules with the hit BBC dance show

Janette Manrara has been issued a demand by one of her Strictly Come Dancing co-stars as she shared a ‘not the same’ message with Aljaz Skorjanec.

The presenter and dancer managed to steal a dance from her husband in between their busy schedules, with Janette co-hosting the new series of Strictly spin-off It Takes Two and Aljaz competing in the competition alongside drag star La Voix.

Janette and Aljaz have had a more than a decade-long romance so far, having met at the London studios Dance Attic in 2010.

Their relationship blossomed as they starred in the hit live dance show, Burn the Floor, before it turned long-distance, with Aljaž based back home in Slovenia and Janette in LA.

But in 2013, they were reunited in London when they bagged spots as professional dancers on Strictly. Two years later, Aljaz popped the question, getting down on one knee at the dance studios where they first met.

They married in 2017, with their Strictly co-stars among the guests at the London ceremony. And in 2023, the couple welcomed their first child, daughter Lyra Rose, into the world.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday (October 8), Janette shared a video of herself and Aljaz joining in a dance trend to a remix of the Harry Styles track, As It Was.

Alongside the post, she wrote: “No it’s not the same as it was…. it’s better. #MrMrsSkorjanec.” Strictly pro Kai Widdrington was quick to respond, as he said: “More of this please,” while Janette’s best pal and Heart Radio host Ashley Roberts commented: “Here for this.”

Fans were also quick to respond. @strictly_jaljaz said: “I am OBSESSED with these little dance videos!!!” @sally_bird63 commented: “Love these reels. You guys are too cute.” @macpurp71 wrote: “Love seeing you both dance.” @ilovejanettex added: “The best xx I just adore this.”

It comes after Janette was heard getting emotional as she opened up about juggling motherhood with her career, having earlier tis year made her musical theatre debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago.

Speaking to Sophie Ellis-Bextor on her Spinning Plats podcast, Janette said: “I could almost cry now thinking about it because I had some really tough nights, really tough nights because she was…so little.”

She went on to share: I’d come home – or there were some weeks that my mum and Lyra would come with me so I could be with her at least during the day before I had shows in the evening.

“But it was really tough because I was so exhausted all the time because I was doing shows in the evening and then trying to be her mother in the day.”

And the stress of trying to juggle both started to become too much. The 41-year-old admitted: “I just wasn’t sleeping. So I kept beating myself up going, I can’t be in two places at the same time.”
