Orlando finished 41-41 a season ago and took its second straight Eastern Conference first-round exit and addressed its need for 3-point shooting with the acquisition of guard Desmond Bane from the Memphis Grizzlies in a deal that cost them guards Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Cole Anthony, four first-round picks, and an additional first-round pick swap. But the Magic finished last in the NBA at 31.8% from deep and 27th in the league in offensive efficiency at 109.4 points per 100 possessions. The club also inked Paolo Banchero to a long-term extension and added veteran point guard Tyus Jones on a one-year deal.

Philadelphia’s collapse in 2024-25 was total. The 76ers’ run of seven straight trips to the playoffs crashed into a 24-58 nightmare that saw stars Joel Embiid miss 63 games, Paul George sit for 41, and Tyrese Maxey for 30. On paper, the Sixers are as good as anyone, but the X-factor for any group headlined by Embiid will be availability. The club signed free agent Trendon Watford and got Baylor guard VJ Edgecombe with the third overall pick in the draft.

The Magic opened the preseason on Saturday night with a 126-118 win over the Miami Heat in San Juan, Puerto Rico, while Philadelphia lost twice in Abu Dhabi to the New York Knicks.

This is a great NBA matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
