Striker Ben Waine joins select list of Port Vale Internationals

Forward Ben Waine made his 25th appearance for his country on Thursday, in the process becoming the 17th Port Vale player to earn a full International cap.
The striker was named in New Zealand’s starting line-up for their friendly match against Poland. It means Waine becomes the club’s first-ever Kiwi International player.
Waine, who joined the side in the summer, has made seven appearances for the Valiants so far this season.
This season has been an unusual one for Port Vale. The club has officially been in existence for 150 years but have only produced sixteen full Internationals prior to this season. It means International appearances have been few and far between. However, with loan goalkeeper Joe Gauci appearing for Australia earlier this month it means the club has seen two players earn full International caps already this season.
