Fall at Scots docks sparks multi-agency rescue response

A large emergency service response was called to a dockyard in Fife after a person fell on Sunday.

The Scottish Ambulance Service, Coastguard and fire service were alerted to the incident at Harbour View in Methil at around 12.10pm.

Two fire engines and a rope rescue team were sent to the scene. Coastguard Rescue Teams from Leven and Kinghorn were sent, alongside RNLI Kinghorn lifeboat.

The injured individual was located and passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

A spokesperson for the Coastguard said: “HM Coastguard received reports of a casualty with a fall injury at Methil Docks, Fife. Coastguard Rescue Teams from Leven and Kinghorn were sent, alongside RNLI Kinghorn lifeboat.

“The casualty was located and recovered into the care of Scottish Ambulance Service for onward medical treatment.”
