Chatham Town to play Buxton in FA Cup first-round

Speaking ahead of the team draw on Monday evening, captain Reece Butler said when the third goal went in against Angels on Saturday it was “up there with the best moments I’ve had”.

He said: “It was like something out of a film and we’re all buzzing to be here for the draw.

“I’m a scaffolder and lorry driver, but I love playing football. I love my job [but] not in the winter.”

Sam Sene-Richardson, who is 18 years-old and has come through the club’s academy, said: “It’s cementing history. It’s the first time in 97 years so it’s unforgettable.”

Chatham will play Buxton on the weekend of 1 November, with the exact date yet to be decided.
