Jackman, Furness ‘rebuilding’ in shock twist

While their very public split sparked a major divide between them, new reports have emerged claiming that Hugh Jackman and Deborra Lee Furness have mended their rift.
Furness, who was married to Jackman for almost 30 years, stunned fans back in May when she released a bombshell statement where she spoke of experiencing “traumatic betrayal” that “cut deep.”
It was an extraordinary statement, given both Furness, 69, and Jackman, 56, had maintained a dignified silence since first announcing their split two years prior.

Now reports have emerged that the pair have been working to rebuild their friendship, with Jackman attempting to “make peace” with his ex-wife.
“Hugh has been trying to make peace with Debs for a long while now, but as you can imagine, it has taken her time to feel ready,” an insider told Radar Online.
“Settling all the legal stuff seems to have helped because she’s finally coming around – they’ve gotten together a couple of times in New York recently to talk things out, and by all accounts things have improved dramatically, which is fantastic for everyone, most of all their kids.”
The source added: “It’s been two years now since they officially separated and it really is time to let the hatred and anger go.”

A source previously said last year that Jackman and Furness’ children had been caught in the middle of their messy break-up.
“It’s been hard for the kids, having to welcome Sutton [Foster] into their father’s world with their own mixed feelings about it, while at the same time feeling guilty if they get too close,” said an insider at the time.
Furness officially filed for divorce earlier this year, with a settlement being agreed upon behind closed doors.
“A settlement was reached that Deborra is pleased with, which includes a handsome spousal support payment,” a source told the Daily Mail.
“There was some back and forth regarding this financial agreement but, in the end, [Deborra] got what she believed she deserved. Both are coming out of this financially secure.”
