A section of the A27 on the West Sussex and Hampshire border has been closed overnight for emergency road resurfacing following a car fire.
At 21:30 BST on Monday, West Sussex Fire and Rescue confirmed it was at the scene of a vehicle fire on the A27, between the Fishbourne roundabout and Emsworth turn-off.
Shortly before 22:00 the service advised people to avoid the area and that the westbound carriageway would be closed until further notice.
At 06:32 on Tuesday National Highways advised that the closure was still in place.
