At least six people require medical attention after a natural gas fire broke out at an under construction building in North York on Tuesday morning, Toronto Fire says.
Crews were first dispatched to the building on Esther Shiner Boulevard at McMahon Drive, which is in the vicinity of Leslie Street and Sheppard Avenue, at around 9:20 a.m.
Firefighters reported in a social media post that there was “some sort of mishap,” and that the “gas (was) shut off prior to arrival.”
More than a dozen vehicles have been dispatched to the scene by Toronto Fire Services.
It is not immediately clear how severe the injuries sustained by the patients are or whether any of them are being transported to hospital.
