Eagles Predicted To Send A.J. Brown Packing in Blockbuster Trade With Fringe Super Bowl Contender

The Philadelphia Eagles’ passing attack has greatly underwhelmed in the 2025 campaign despite having the talent necessary to be at the top of the league. Wide receiver A.J. Brown, who is the leader of the Eagles’ receiving corps, has just two games this season with more than 50 receiving yards. DeVonta Smith is essentially a No. 1 WR forced to act as a ‘Robin’ to Brown, but could absolutely step up if need be. He has only three games with more than 50 receiving yards and a single touchdown.
The point is that change is needed, and general manager Howie Roseman isn’t afraid to make big moves, meaning anyone could see a change of scenery.

Would the Eagles Be Willing To Send A.J. Brown to a Contender in the AFC?
The Los Angeles Chargers started the season hot with three consecutive victories against teams in their division. However, they’ve cooled off in recent weeks with losses to the New York Giants and Washington Commanders before a bounce-back win over the Miami Dolphins.
All this to say the Chargers are clearly on the fringe of being Super Bowl contenders and could use a final offensive weapon to push them over the top. This is why USA Today’s Ayrton Ostly predicts the Eagles could send Brown to Los Angeles in the coming weeks.
“Bringing Brown on via trade could help them contend in 2025 and have a key difference-maker on offense going into the future,” Ostly wrote.
“Speaking of the future, Los Angeles has plenty of cap space to handle Browns‘ contract into the future even with franchise quarterback Justin Herbert’s extension on the books,” Ostly shared. “He, a resurgent Quentin Johnston, and Ladd McConkey would make for arguably the best trio of wide receivers in the league.”
Ostly continued to pitch that the Chargers could offer a Day 2 pick for the 28-year-old.
Brown’s impact score from PFSN actually disappoints compared to L.A.’s current receiving room, but he’s proven time and time again that he’s capable of putting up the numbers. Brown has a score of 71.9 compared to Johnston’s 83.3 and McConkey’s 73.0.
It’s worth noting Ostly is not the only one who believes Brown could be moved, as an AFC general manager shared with The Athletic’s Dianna Russini that “I think Howie (Roseman) moves him. It would have to be for the right player or pick, but (a trade) wouldn’t surprise me.”
Brown is one of the most talented weapons in the NFL, so it would be quite upsetting for Eagles fans to see him leave the year after their Super Bowl victory.
