Panthers provide 2 big injury updates after Week 6 win

The Carolina Panthers are picking up steam and, possibly, some reinforcements.
Head coach Dave Canales spoke with reporters this afternoon in wrapping up yesterday’s 30-27 walk-off win over the Dallas Cowboys. The victory, now their second straight and third in their last four games, did not feature wideout Jalen Coker—who was ruled out of the contest on Saturday due to his quad strain.
Canales was asked how close the team was to activating the second-year receiver this weekend.
“He’s really close,” he replied. “He looks great. We’ll give you the full report on Wednesday. But this week is gonna be a big week for him to really prove, physically, to prove that he can do it and handle a load that we’re expecting.”
Coker, who began the regular season on injured reserve, has now missed the first six games of the campaign. The Panthers designated the 23-year-old to return to practice last Wednesday, and listed him as a full participant throughout the week.
Canales then stated that the team plans on also opening up the 21-day practice window for center Austin Corbett, who sprained his MCL in the Week 2 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Corbett was able to avoid surgery on his knee, keeping a return for the 2025 season in play.
Cade Mays has started the last four games at center in place of Corbett.
