The Bengals have several injuries at tight end, which opens the door for Noah Fant to potentially have a breakout game on Thursday Night Football. Tanner Hudson and Mike Gesicki have both been ruled out for the game, which means that Fant will serve as the primary security blanket for Joe Flacco.

The Steelers are 5.5-point favorites for this one, with the Bengals +220 underdogs on the moneyline. The points total is set at O/U 44.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Despite Fant dealing with poor quarterback play and competition from other tight ends on the roster this season, he has still managed to go over this reception total in three of the five games that he has featured in.
In Week 5, Fant did not see any targets, but in the other four games in which he’s produced, he’s seen the ball come his way five, four, five and four times. Talk about consistency. For Thursday’s game, I would put the floor at four targets and the ceiling at eight or nine due to the lack of other options at the position for Cincinnati.
Tight end Drew Sample is also on the roster to potentially take targets away from Fant in the passing game, however Sample is mostly considered a run blocker as his nine targets in six games indicate.
Fant will likely see the most targets on Thursday behind Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, and four or more receptions seems like a more than feasible target. I would expect an uptick in volume considering the injuries at the tight end position and Fant should record four or more receptions for the fourth time this season.
