WWE Star Returning From Long-Term Injury Major Update

WWE
A major update has emerged on a WWE star potentially set to return from an injury that has kept them out for over a year.
With tonight’s SmackDown taking place in San Jose, California, there is a very intriguing name present at the show.
According to PWInsider, Ilja Dragunov is at tonight’s WWE SmackDown and has been working out in the ring, wearing a knee brace.
Dragunov has been out of action since he suffered an injury in an untelevised match against GUNTHER in September 2024.
The former NXT Champion has been reported to have been on the verge of a return for at least the past few weeks.
There’s currently no word on whether there are actually plans for him to feature on WWE SmackDown tonight, but he is there and working out in the ring, so a return may be happening.
There has been a major late change to the planned main event of SmackDown tonight, which was set to be Drew McIntyre vs Jacob Fatu.
