Bangladesh will eye a consolation win in the third and final One-Day International against Afghanistan at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
The Afghans took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series after winning the second game by 81 runs, thanks to their captain Rashid Khan’s five-wicket haul. Afghanistan could only post 190, with Ibrahim Zadran doing the bulk of the scoring with a 140-ball 95. However, Rashid’s fifer and all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai’s three wickets up front stopped Bangladesh in its tracks as the Tigers fell well short of the paltry target.
In the series opener, Afghanistan had clinched a five-wicket win while chasing a 222-run target.
