South Carolina football is amid one of the toughest stretches in, arguably all of college football.
The Gamecocks (3-3, 1-3 SEC) take on No. 13 Oklahoma on Saturday, Oct. 18, from Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia. The Sooners are the lowest-ranked team in the US LBM Coaches Poll that South Carolina will face over the next four games through Nov. 15.
The grueling five-game stretch of SEC games — over six weeks — began with a 20-10 loss to No. 11 LSU last week in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Following the matchup against Oklahoma, South Carolina has games against three more teams ranked inside the top six teams in the country.
Here’s what you need to know about South Carolina’s upcoming schedule:
South Carolina ranked games
South Carolina does not have the most difficult schedule in 2025, according to ESPN’s FPI. That honor belongs to Florida, with Alabama running second. The Gamecocks are ranked No. 12 in strength of schedule and No. 11 in remaining strength of schedule.
But the five-game gauntlet vs. No. 11 LSU, No. 13 Oklahoma, No. 6 Alabama, No. 5 Ole Miss and No. 4 Texas A&M is as difficult a five-game stretch as any on the 2025 schedule. The Gamecocks are 3-3 and will need to win one of these games to have a chance to gain bowl eligibility, if they can close out the season with wins against Coastal Carolina and Clemson.
The matchup against LSU came following a Week 6 bye, and will follow with consecutive games against the Sooners, Crimson Tide and Rebels. South Carolina will have its second bye week in Week 10 before taking on No. 4 Texas A&M in College Station, Texas.
If South Carolina found a way to win out, it would be in a prime position for a potential College Football Playoff spot despite already having three losses.
The Gamecocks are coming off a 9-4 2024 season, with coach Shane Beamer leading the program to a 32-25 record since taking over in 2021.
