Runners will once again take to the streets — and across the border — for the 48th annual Detroit Free Press Marathon presented by MSU Federal Credit Union, an international race that winds through Detroit and Windsor.
The marathon returns the weekend Oct. 17-19, 2025, with thousands of runners expected to cross the Ambassador Bridge into Canada and return through the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel. The weekend includes a full marathon, half marathons, a relay, 5K and kids races on Saturday and Sunday, along with the Health & Fitness Expo on Friday and Saturday at Huntington Place.
So what will the race courses look like? What road closures should you know? Here’s a look at this year’s course maps for the marathon, half marathons, relay and 5K races.
