Watch: Rams rookie WR Konata Mumpfield catches first career TD

Los Angeles Rams rookie receiver Konanta Mumpfield made the most of his second career catch. The seventh-rounder out of Pittsburgh scored his first touchdown on a pass from Matthew Stafford on the Rams’ first drive in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 7.
Check it out:
Mumpfield had just one catch for seven yards on the year through six games, but was likely to see increased snaps with Puka Nacua out with an ankle injury. Head coach Sean McVay noted he and Jordan Whittington would have to step up in Nacua’s absence, and the rookie deliver on the Rams’ first drive.
He is also the first Rams offensive rookie to score this year. Second-round tight end Terrance Ferguson and fourth-round running back Jarquez Hunter have yet to see the end zone.
Mumpfield earned a lot of preseason praise from the coaching staff for his maturity and route-running expertise despite his youth. But with so many receivers ahead of him on the depth chart, there wasn’t a clear role for the rookie behind Nacua, Davante Adams, Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington.
But now that Nacua is out for at least one game, Mumpfield has the chance to seize those targets until Nacua returns.
