This piece is a fantasy manager’s one-stop shop for managing their fantasy roster early in the week. For more players to add, check out the weekly waiver wire, and for more on this past week’s games in general, check out the fantasy football recap.
5 players to add
1. RB Blake Corum, Los Angeles Rams
The Rams deployed a running back rotation by drive for a second straight week.
Kyren Williams played 74.4% of their offensive snaps over the first seven weeks, compared to Blake Corum‘s 23.8%. Typically, Williams handled most drives and Corum took every few drives. Corum was averaging more yards per carry thanks to more long runs, while Williams more consistently gained five or more yards on carries.
After the Rams’ Week 8 bye, the offense switched to a rotation by drive. Williams’ drives lasted notably longer than Corum’s, so the change didn’t have as notable an impact on the players’ snap rates, particularly because the Rams won in a blowout. They similarly enjoyed a blowout in Week 7. This week, Los Angeles continued the rotation by drive. That left Williams with only one more carry than Corum. William ran 14 times for 73 yards and two touchdowns, while Corum ran 13 times for 56 yards.
Williams should continue to be the better back for fantasy purposes because he starts, and the Rams are also fine with Williams ending the first half and starting the second. However, there could be weeks where Corum ends up with more fantasy value. Corum should be a waiver-wire target thanks to his role and how well the Rams are playing.
2. RB Tyler Allgeier, Atlanta Falcons
Allgeier started the season well, finishing with double-digit carries in four of his first five games. He ran 10 times total from Weeks 7-9 before logging 11 carries for 57 yards and two touchdowns in Week 10. Generally, Allgeier runs a lot in the Falcons’ wins and close losses, whereas he isn’t used much in their bigger losses. That was also the case last season.
