Week 6 Advance Stat of the Week | Missed Tackles Forced per Attempt

Our Advance Stat for Week 6 is Missed Tackles Forced per Attempt. This stat measures how often a running back makes a defender miss on each rushing attempt. It’s a powerful indicator of individual skill and playmaking ability — showing which RBs can create extra yardage even when blocking breaks down.

Why It Matters for Fantasy:
Running backs who consistently force missed tackles are the ones who turn short gains into chunk plays. Every broken tackle increases their chance for explosive runs, touchdowns, and those critical bonus fantasy points. Targeting players with high MTF/ATT means betting on talent that creates yards beyond what’s blocked, not just players who rely on scheme or volume.

Bottom line:
When deciding between two backs in close matchups, lean toward the one with a higher Missed Tackles Forced rate—those elusive runners tend to produce steady fantasy floors and game-breaking upside

(Tap to Continue) Week 6 Advanced Stat of the Week | Missed Tackles Forced per Attempt

When looking at fantasy running back leaders, Missed Tackles Forced per Attempt doesn’t perfectly correlate with total missed tackles (or even fantasy success). Of the top 13 players in total missed tackles forced, only 4 rank inside the current top 12 fantasy RBs.

That disconnect highlights how context matters. Some backs—like Bijan Robinson, Jonathan Taylor, and Breece Hall—stand out among fantasy’s elite for their ability to make defenders miss consistently. But MTF/ATT also depends heavily on rushing volume, which can skew the leaderboard.

For instance:

  • Bijan Robinson (64 carries) and Breece Hall (66 carries) boast excellent per-attempt elusiveness, but with fewer opportunities so far.
  • On the flip side, high-volume runners like Christian McCaffrey (91 carries) and Saquon Barkley (83 carries) have lower MTF/ATT rates despite strong fantasy production largely because of heavier workloads and defensive focus.

🚨 Potential Sell-High Candidates

A few big names could raise concern when you dig into this metric:

  • Javonte Williams ranks 32nd in MTF/ATT.
  • Kyren Williams ranks 37th.

Both have been productive for fantasy purposes, but much of their value has come through touchdowns and receptions, not from forcing missed tackles. That inefficiency could catch up if their scoring pace cools off—making them possible sell-high targets before regression hits.

🌟 Deep Buy-Low or Sleeper Targets

On the other end, some under-the-radar players shine in this stat:

Kendre Miller quietly leads all RBs at 0.34 MTF/ATT on just 38 carries, as his role in the Saints offense expands. If he continues to earn touches, Miller could be a deep sleeper for the second half of the fantasy season.

Ashton Jeanty ranks 2nd in MTF/ATT at 0.28, showing elite tackle-breaking talent despite inconsistent week-to-week usage.

Use these metrics alongside Dynasty Nerds Week 6 Waiver Wire article, Week 6 Trade Advice, and our All-in-One Weekly Content hub to optimize your fantasy football lineups.

Below in each dropdown are the full Week 6 Team Stats powered by Fantasy Points Data Suite. Use these metrics to make informed Start/Sit decisions, place prop bets, or make DFS lineup calls.

Key Advanced Player Stats | Starts/Sit

  • Kyler Murray – Murray’s rushing floor (34 yards) may be limited against the Colts, who allow an average of just 10 rushing yards per game to quarterbacks.
  • Tyler Warren – The rookie TE should be in for another strong outing as the Cardinals have allowed an opposing TE over 40 yards in 4 of their 5 games.

Buffalo Bills (4-1) @ Atlanta Falcons (2-2)

Key Advanced Player Stats | Starts/Sit

  • James Cook – Cook may be limited to the ground game this week as the Falcons have allowed the fewest targets to running backs.
  • Bijan Robinson – We could see a monster week from Robinson as he faces the Bills, who allow the second-most Exp Run% to opposing running backs. A perfect matchup for Robinson to dominate on the ground.

Chicago Bears (2-2) @ Washington Commanders (3-2)

Key Advanced Player Stats | Starts/Sit

  • D’Andre Swift – Swift may struggle to produce against the Commanders, who allow the 3rd fewest YPC to running backs in man/gap run plays. Swift already struggles with this concept, with a 2.65 YPC.
  • Jacory Croskey-Merritt – The rookie running back should thrive on MNF against the Bears, who allow the most Missed Tackles Forced per Attempt (.22) in the league.

FAQ | Week 6 Fantasy Football Advanced Stats & Lineup Data Insights

Q: Which players stand out in Week 6 based on advanced stats?
A: Data from the Fantasy Points Data Suite highlights players with elite usage, explosive run potential, and strong matchup advantages. Running backs with high MTF/ATT (Missed Tackles Forced per Attempt) and receivers with high TPRR (Targets Per Route Run) are must-start options in Week 6.

Q: How do advanced stats help identify DFS value plays for Week 6?
A: DFS managers should look for players with high XFP/G (Expected Fantasy Points per Game) and i20% (Inside 20 Rushing Share). These metrics identify players with red-zone usage and stable volume that can outperform salary expectations.

Q: What advanced stats are best for finding touchdown upside this week?
A: Use i5% (Inside 5 Rushing Share) and EZ TGT (End Zone Targets) to spot touchdown regression candidates. These metrics reveal who’s most involved near the goal line.

Q: Which metrics predict potential regression or sell-high candidates?
A: Players with low MTF/ATT (Missed Tackles Forced per Attempt) and inflated touchdown rates often regress. Efficiency stats like YACO/ATT (Yards After Contact per Attempt) can confirm whether production is sustainable.

Q: How can advanced stats help with NFL player prop bets?
A: For prop betting, track metrics like ADOT (Average Depth of Target), Press % (Pressure Rate), and CPOE(Completion Percentage Over Expectation). These identify quarterbacks and receivers likely to exceed passing and yardage lines.

Q: How do I choose between two start/sit options with similar projections?
A: Compare matchup-adjusted stats like Man Win RateZone Win Rate, and Press %. These data points show how players perform against different defensive looks, helping you make smarter tiebreaker calls.
