A personal trainer has won a Pride of Britain award for his work improving the lives of disabled, ill and elderly people.
Javeno McLean has spent more than two decades improving the lives of elderly people and those with disabilities and illnesses through free sessions at his specially equipped gym in central Manchester.

That led Javeno to set up his J7 Gym in Manchester in 2016, an inclusive space with a dedicated area for elderly clients and those with a range of disabilities.

Javeno said: “Inclusivity is so important, when you include people you empower them.
“We live in a society where people can feel dehumanised, unseen.
“I don’t see their wheelchair, the medication, the barriers.”
Speaking to ITV Granada Reports on the red carpet ahead of the Pride of Britain ceremony, Javeno said: “It is going to be a wet in there, I am going to be crying, my wife has already cried… mum, dad, everyone is going to be crying, but do you know what, it’s happy tears.”
A judging panel selected the winners from thousands of public nominations.
The Pride of Britain awards ceremony will be shown live on ITV1 at 8pm on Thursday 23 October.
