Prince William Shares First Video Look Inside His New Home With Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton and Prince William have officially ditched Adelaide Cottage for a fancy new home called Forest Lodge—and we just got our first look inside.

William was reportedly inside Forest Lodge while filming a video for the Royal British Legion, and you can see a glimpse at the interior design below—including a fancy double door with gold trim, plush red curtains, soft blue wallpaper, and several framed works of art.

Apparently, Kate was in charge of decorating the home, and interiors expert Benji Lewis tells the Daily Mail that they were going for a “tastefully discreet vibe.” He adds, “We’re definitely going English, elegant grand country house in the interior style here, the rooms are likely breezy and spacious, and the ceilings lofty and high with beautiful tall windows, which afford an abundance of natural light to flood into the spaces. The Perspex plates on the doors serve the brilliant purpose of preventing grubby fingers from marking the immaculate paintwork… They’ve cleverly struck a tasteful balance between calm and slightly contemporary by blending neutral tones like ivory and taupe.”

Kate and William have only been in Forest Lodge for a few weeks, and it’s about twice the size of their old place. The 328-year-old Georgian mansion has eight bedrooms, a ballroom, a tennis court, and several cottages where security and nanny live.

According to Daily Mail, “This is for the long term and it’s their intention to stay in Forest Lodge once he becomes king.” In other words, future King William and Queen Kate will not be living in Buckingham Palace!
