The Fighting Irish went up two scores here
Just a few seconds after Jeremiyah Love scored for No. 9 Notre Dame, defensive back Tae Johnson stepped in front of a Mason Heintschel pass for an easy 48-yard pick-six.
The interception return for a touchdown put the Irish up 14-0 following the extra point.
It also occurred on the first play from scrimmage following Love’s touchdown run.
