British musician Rikki Doolan has threatened to sue Piers Morgan over allegedly using AI clips of him and calling him a “monstrosity.” Doolan has posted a bunch of tweets on the same, with the first one where he claimed that someone used AI to make his voice sound out of tune.
In the tweet, he also accused Morgan of labeling his singing as the “least talented singing we’ve heard on these isles.” He further accused Piers Morgan of defaming him.
“Right then, I need a public retraction and apology @piersmorgan otherwise you’re hearing from my lawyer… Someone with AI put my voice out of tune. I’m a professional singer with 2 albums and millions of streams online,” Doolan wrote.
In the same tweet, he further claimed that what Morgan had done was “defamation and misrepresentation of my profession.” In the end, he claimed that Morgan’s team had done a “job and a half.” The tweet by Doolan was in response to a clip where Morgan could be seen reacting to his singing, which he claimed was altered using AI.
Rikki Doolan shares two more tweets where he does a comparison between what he claimed was the real one and an AI-generated altered one. The performance happened in the ‘Unite the Kingdom’ far-right rally in London on May 16, 2026.
How have netizens reacted to Rikki Doolan’s response to Piers Morgan’s reaction to his singing?
The tweets posted by Rikki Doolan have garnered massive traction on X, formerly known as Twitter. Many netizens took to the platform and shared their take on it. While Doolan insisted that Piers Morgan had used his altered clips, many X users had a separate point of view.
One user suggested that the clip wasn’t altered using AI and that only the background noise was removed from the original clips. Reacting to his lawsuit threat, the user tweeted,
“It wasn’t fake – just the background turned down. This is really not the ‘own’ you think it is!! Clearly not a ‘hill to die on!’ Good luck in court with that one!!!”
Meanwhile, many netizens mocked the musician, claiming that he was singing out of tune, even in the original video. A user commented,
“So you post a video of you singing out of tune to prove that you don’t sing out of tune? Genius.”
“I can’t even sing and I could tell that was terrible! Where is @SimonCowell when you need him!” wrote another one.
“To be fair, I couldn’t tell which one was meant to be the ‘real’ one. Both laughably awful, cringeworthy, and comical,” a tweet read.
A lot of similar remarks have flooded the social media platform under the tweets posted by Rikki Doolan. Originally from Middlesbrough, Doolan is a Christian pop-rock musician. After 2012, the singer reportedly became a pastor and also devoted himself to worship songs.
Meanwhile, the Saturday rally was organized by far-right activist Tommy Robinson. According to CBS News, the purpose of the rally was to prevent the decline of the British identity. Law enforcement officials reportedly estimated that about 60,000 people attended the rally.
