Presidential Donald Trump on Tuesday went after Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker’s appearance, suggesting the potential 2028 Democratic presidential primary contender is a “fat slob.”
“I had a little bit of a Pritzker joke. I was gonna talk about Pritzker and size,” the president said Tuesday while pardoning turkeys Gobble and Wobble at the White House.
Trump has frequently attacked the Illinois governor after Pritzker fought back against the administration’s plan to send the National Guard into Chicago.
The president said when he talks about Pritzker “I get angry, because he’s not letting us do the job.
“So I’m not gonna do tell Pritzker joke. I have a very cute little joke, you know. Some speechwriter wrote some joke about his weight. But I would never want to talk about his weight,” Trump said.
“I don’t talk about people being fat, I refuse to talk about the fact he’s a fat slob. I don’t mention it,” the president continued.
Pritzker has been a leading voice in the Democratic Party, and his name has been floated as a potential candidate in 2028.
The Illinois governor has claimed Trump is a “narcissist” and alleged the president is suffering from “dementia.”
