In its second season of existence in its current format, the 12-team College Football Playoff will feature three programs with coaches who are leaving (or have already left) for new jobs, including two such programs from the lower-tier Group of Five conferences, while managing to exclude a 10-2 behemoth of a Notre Dame team from competing for a national championship.
