Man United star Noussair Mazraoui delivers a superb display at right centre-back vs West Ham

Manchester United had to share the spoils with West Ham United after a 1-1 draw in the Premier League at Old Trafford yesterday.

Diogo Dalot handed United a thoroughly deserved lead, only for Soungoutou Magassa to punch back with an 83rd-minute equaliser that silenced the home crowd.

A victory would have propelled the Red Devils into fifth place, but instead they remained stuck in eighth after another missed opportunity.

While Dalot impressed once again, it was Noussair Mazraoui who shone brightest, delivering a standout performance that eclipsed every other United player on the pitch.

Manager Ruben Amorim reinstated Mazraoui to the starting XI but deployed him as the right centre-back, leaving Leny Yoro on the bench.

It proved an inspired call, with the 28-year-old showing exactly why he has long insisted he is most comfortable playing on the right side of a back three rather than as a wing-back.

He backed his words with action, producing a commanding display despite the frustrating result.

Mazraoui had 86 touches and achieved a passing accuracy of 93 percent.

He also made three crucial clearances, including a dramatic goal-line stop, though unfortunately the rebound fell perfectly for Magassa to level the score.

The Moroccan won two of his three ground duels and consistently looked confident and progressive with the ball.

His all-round impact comfortably earned him a 7/10 rating in our post-match analysis.

Mazraoui repeatedly surged forward, helping to form sharp passing triangles with Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo in the final third.

His aggressive positioning allowed United to pin West Ham deep inside their own half and dominate long stretches of the contest.

With performances like this, Amorim has no justification for pushing Mazraoui back into wing-back when he is clearly far more influential as a wide centre-back.
